The Florida House of Representatives this week passed legislation along party lines that would ban the flying of ideologically-based flags in government buildings. This legislation allows the traditional flying of American flags, state flags, and POW/MIA flags.

It didn't take long for Florida liberals to claim the legislation was rooted in homophobia and transphobia, claiming the goal of the bill was to ban the rainbow pride flag from being flown in public schools and other government buildings. As usual, Florida's legislation doesn't specifically identify homosexuals or the Pride flag, but that doesn't stop the Pride movement from making any Republican-only effort about them.

    Common sense

    Florida House Republican legislation states:

“A government entity may not erect or display a flag that represents a political viewpoint, including, but not limited to, a partisan political, racial, sexual, gender, or political ideological viewpoint.”

The language is about more than just the pride flag, although that will be included. The legislation would also relate to political campaign flags, Black Lives Matter flags, Blue Lives Matter flags, and any flag that is not an American flag, a state flag, or a POW/MIA flag.

    Republican Representative Doug Bankson explained:

“This is something that literally brings us back to the focus on education and not indoctrination.”

To illustrate the cynical comprehensiveness of this legislation, Republican Representative Randy Fine said:

“I don't want the Hamas flag flying in this room. I don't want the Black Lives Matter flag flying in this room, and I don't want the Trump for President flag flying in this room. That's not appropriate. It's not appropriate in this room, and it's not appropriate in Our schools, not appropriate in our government buildings.

Despite these seemingly sound arguments, liberals still have a lot to say in opposition.

Someone in Florida skid-marked a “Pride” flag on the road and it made the local news…

They literally reported it as an “act of hate” 😂 https://t.co/6RlOwRI0zy

    Unity through separation

A non-binary college student named Matthew Grokulski complained:

“I'm tired of our government telling me I have a right to exist. The Pride flag isn't just a flag, it's a symbol to me that my existence means something — it's a flag that unites my community, much like the way the American flag unites us all.

Regardless of the obvious fact that not displaying the pride flag in his city hall or his public school classroom does not cause it to disappear from the realm of existence, Mr. Grochulski can still display the symbol of the separate unit on his person as the legislation does not apply to students Mr. Grochulski can either Hang the symbol on which his psychological existence is based in his bedroom, in his private residence, or even the outside His own residence.

The goal of ensuring that government buildings and, in particular, public schools fly only the American flag is to ensure everyone included. Flying the Pride flag alienates homosexuals and can also alienate Christians and those of other faiths who believe that homosexuality and any other deviations from homosexuality are a sin.

But inclusivity seems to only matter to anyone last Of those who believe or are heterosexual.

    Hidden dangers

    Republican Representative David Borrero said:

“Public classrooms should not be the place where our children go to become radicalized and be preached to accept these extreme partisan ideologies.”

His argument touches not only on the pride flag, but also on other flags, such as the Black Lives Matter flag. Democratic Representative Dottie Joseph responded, saying:

“Emphasizing that Black Lives Matter is not an ideology, displaying a Pride flag doesn’t hurt anyone.”

However, under the banner of Black Lives Matter, major cities across the United States suffered some of the worst property damage in history, with dozens of innocent lives lost. All in the name of an organization dripping with the trappings of Marxism and constantly mired in financial controversy.

Public classrooms should be the place where American students of all stripes learn arithmetic, reading, writing, history, and science. American students must learn these critical topics under the nationally unified American flag.

Instead, they are not learning how to do math, read, write, engage in a meaningful way with their government, or discover new things, as evidenced by recent national report cards. But they are certainly good at sequestering themselves into racist and sexist camps under flags aimed at building revenue, not unity.
