A man has died after an explosion in Dublin city centre.
The explosion occurred in a hostel and was limited to one room.
Irish Police said one man was fatally injured and no other injuries were reported.
officers and Dublin The fire brigade were called to Little Britain Street after reports of an explosion inside a homeless hostel in DePaul just after 3.30pm on Thursday.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated while police examine the site.
It is understood officers did not suspect foul play in their initial assessment of the scene.
Residents were evacuated from the building and a security cordon was imposed.
DePaul said it was working with the Dublin Regional Homelessness Executive (DRHE) and looking for alternative accommodations for residents.

The company said in a statement: “DePaul can confirm that an incident occurred this afternoon on our Little Britain Street service.
“This was a local incident confined to one room. All service users will be evacuated from the building tonight and alternative accommodation will be found.
“DePaul is working with DRHE and our NGO partners to ensure that no one is left without accommodation this evening.”
