A new study predicts that thousands of American cities will become “ghost towns” by 2100, due to a combination of various social and economic factors.
We've already seen massive decline in some American cities, and Detroit and various locations in Appalachia immediately come to mind.
Progressive law enforcement policies are causing businesses to flee cities that were doing well just a few years ago. Is this theory really so hard to believe?

Thousands of US cities expected to become ghost towns by 2100: new study
A new study using current trends over the past 20 years predicts population decline in thousands of American cities over the next 80 years.
Researchers at the University of Illinois Chicago used population projections to find that by 2100, nearly half of the U.S.'s 30,000 cities will see a decline in population.
The study indicates that the population decline will represent 12% to 23% of the population of these cities. The study explains that the consequences of this decline will bring “unprecedented challenges.”
These cities may face a loss of basic services such as transportation, clean water, electricity, and Internet access. Furthermore, the problem posed by the depopulation is a “dwindling tax base” that would certainly affect basic services in the city.
“At the same time, growing population trends in resource-intensive suburban and suburban cities are likely to deny access to much-needed resources in depopulated areas, further exacerbating their challenges,” the report said.
It's already happening in some places.

#Detroit, Brush and Watson, 1998-2022. Abandoned and in disrepair, this old mansion on the southeast corner was still a candidate for rehabilitation in 1998. But an arson attack left it ruined and beyond repair in Reno. The new development is almost complete. The old gas station remains on the northeast corner. pic.twitter.com/97PIk6kb3I

People have been fleeing some American cities in droves for a few years. Progressive policies are fueling the journey and it will only get worse.
