    Pakistan said “two innocent children” were killed and three others injured in strikes by neighboring Iran in an “unprovoked violation of its airspace.”

    Pakistan's Foreign Ministry issued a strongly worded statement confirming and condemning Tuesday's attack on Balochistan province – which, according to Iranian media reports (later retracted), was targeting a Sunni militant group.

    “This violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty is completely unacceptable and could have serious consequences,” the Pakistani Foreign Ministry’s statement said.

    She added: “Pakistan has always said that terrorism represents a common threat to all countries in the region and requires coordinated action.

    He added, “Such unilateral actions are not consistent with good-neighborly relations and could seriously undermine bilateral trust.”

    Media confusion about the bombing of the mosque

    Two Pakistani security officials said the Iranian strikes damaged a mosque in the Panjjor district of Balochistan, about 30 miles inside Pakistan from the Iranian border.

    IranThe Islamic Republic News Agency and state television said the attacks, which used missiles and drones, targeted bases linked to the Jaish al-Adl militant group.

    However, confusion ensued as reports of the strikes quickly disappeared.
