As part of their mandatory military duty, BTS members RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are currently serving their country. They were recently removed from the “Star Soldier” list on The Camp app, which facilitates communication between military personnel. This came after BIGHIT MUSIC issued a statement on January 9, 2024, warning The Camp of violating the publicity rights of their music.

the camp, a software known for writing condolence letters to military personnel, admitted the violation of some rights on January 16 and took corrective action, which included removing sections related to BTS. As a result, fans rejoiced and took to social media to respond to the same.

the camp They admitted to violating publicity rights on January 16 and explained that they discovered that they had inadvertently violated the rights of a certain company due to administrative issues. They went on to say that remedial measures have been taken. They then proceeded to clarify that they would cease operations at all camps associated with musicians at the request of BIGHIT MUSIC (now HYBE).

Additionally, on March 9, 2024, user-created sections on the app under their artist identities will be retired. According to Allkpop, the camp advertiser:

“In response to a request from Big Hit Music, we will suspend the operation of all camps associated with Big Hit artists. Therefore, user-created camps with the names of Big Hit artists will be suspended on March 9.“.

    They continued:

“Due to mismanagement of the camp, it was determined that certain rights of a certain company were violated, contrary to initial intent. We apologize for causing concern to military personnel and their families.”

BIGHIT MUSIC issued a warning earlier in January 2024 in response to The Camp's use of BTS members' identities and photos. They claimed to have filed documents in December stating that The Camp had violated publicity rights by using the names and images of K-pop group members without consent.

Although BIGHIT announced the details in January, The Camp had already removed the Bangtan Sonyeondan members from the “Recommended Star Soldier” section — which separates currently recruited stars from idols — after receiving an inquiry in December 2023.

Fans took to Twitter to praise BIGHIT MUSIC (now HYBE) for taking tough measures to protect the idol group and celebrated when The Camp removed “BTS Space” from its app.

As two of the six “elite soldiers”, BTS members Kim Namjoon and Kim Taehyung graduated from their basic military training on January 16, 2024. Subsequently, Park Jimin and Jeon Jungkook graduated from their training on January 17, and were deployed to the 5th Infantry Division of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.
