aAs Israel's war against Hamas inside Gaza passes 100 days, air strikes continue to fall across much of the Strip, heavy fighting continues on the ground, and aid agencies continue to call for more, faster aid deliveries to help desperate residents.

But pressure is mounting on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the war, which was sparked by a Hamas attack inside Israel on October 7, which left about 1,200 people dead and 240 others taken hostage. Air strikes, ground operations and the ensuing blockade from Israel killed more than 24,000 people, according to health officials in Hamas-run Gaza.

The United States, Israel's strongest ally, said on Sunday that “now is the right time” for Israel to scale back its military offensive – a statement that followed US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's comments last week in which he called for a “pathway” to the Palestinians. state. China echoed those calls, urging “a specific timetable and roadmap for implementing the two-state solution.”
