As children left school for the day in the central Israeli city of Raanana on Monday afternoon, a multi-pronged terrorist car-ramming and stabbing attack took place.
Reports say an elderly woman was killed and at least 17 people were injured, many of them children and teenagers.
According to the Times of Israel, “The perpetrators — two West Bank Palestinians working in Israel illegally — took over at least three vehicles and rammed into pedestrians at several locations in the city, and also stabbed one or more of their victims, according to police and paramedics. And eyewitnesses.”
The suspects are Ahmed Zaidat (25 years old) and Mahmoud Ziyad (44 years old), both residents of the town of Bani Naim in the southern West Bank, near Hebron. According to the Shin Bet, they have been blacklisted for illegally entering Israel several times in the past.
