A winter storm prompted Lincoln County Transportation to suspend service, with hazardous conditions on area roads, and the Oregon Department of Transportation closed Interstate 229 as well as Interstate 20 from Newport to Eddyville due to actively falling trees. The service will remain suspended until at least Monday.

Tonight's cold temperatures will re-cover roads with ice, making the surface treacherous, and more ice in trees, potentially causing more dangerous tree falls.
