Cyclone Bilal hit the islands of Mauritius and Reunion in the Indian Ocean, bringing strong winds and heavy floods.

The Red Cross said that one person died on the French island of Reunion and more than 600 people were temporarily displaced. Authorities warned people not to go out, as the cyclone brought heavy rain and winds of up to 250 kilometers per hour (155 mph).
French President Emmanuel Macron posted a message on social media promising state support for residents of the French overseas territory.
