Safety doesn't seem to be a concern for the federal government these days. They seem more interested in feel-good tactics than the well-being of Americans.
The FAA currently only hires applicants with “severe intellectual” disabilities as well as other serious problems.
Their “Diversity and Inclusion” plan claims that diversity contributes to safe travel. But is this really so?
The department's DEI policies for hiring are available on their website.
Fox News reported:
The FAA is actively recruiting workers with “severe intellectual disabilities,” psychiatric issues and other mental and physical conditions under the Diversity and Inclusion Hiring Initiative described on the agency’s website.
“Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal Government has determined, as a matter of policy, for special emphasis in recruiting and hiring,” the FAA website states. “These include hearing, sight, missing limbs, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychological disability, and dwarfism.”
The initiative is part of the FAA's “Diversity and Inclusion” hiring plan, which claims that “diversity is integral to achieving the FAA's mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel across our country and abroad.” The FAA's website states that the agency's guidance on diversity hiring was last updated on March 23, 2022.
The FAA oversees the Department of Transportation, currently headed by Pete Buttigieg.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and airlines are under increased scrutiny after Alaska Flight 1282 after a piece of the plane broke off mid-flight, forcing it to make an emergency landing.
Horace Cooper of Fox News' “Project 21” has been warning about the dangers of DEI.
“In my last book, I mention this play with DEI, this idea that diversity is more important than merit. I named the class DIE because that can kill,” Cooper said.
“When I was a kid, we asked this question of do you want your cardiologist to be someone who is socially promoted through medical school or not, or do you want privilege?” Cooper continued.
