The Biden regime is now proposing a new tax on natural gas.
Biden's first order was to cut tens of thousands of jobs and cancel the Keystone XL pipeline.
Gas prices rose right after Biden canceled the Keystone Pipeline.
Since then, Biden has continued to wage his war on the “fossil fuel” industry. The strategic petroleum reserve has also been depleted.
Now Biden is proposing new regulations and taxes on the fossil fuel industry.
“Under President Biden’s leadership, EPA is implementing a comprehensive strategy to reduce wasteful methane emissions that endanger communities and fuel the climate crisis,” EPA Administrator Michael Regan said in a statement. “Today’s proposal, when finalized, will support a complementary set of technology standards and historic resources from the FCA, to stimulate industry innovation and immediate action.”
He continued: “We are laser-focused on working collectively with companies, countries, and communities to ensure that America is a leader in deploying technologies and innovations that help develop a clean energy economy.”
Fox News reported:
On Friday, the Biden administration unveiled a new regulatory proposal that would impose a new tax on the fossil fuel industry to penalize producers who exceed a certain level of methane emissions.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which led the proposal, said it would help “address wasteful methane emissions” from the oil and gas sector, and encourage facilities with higher emissions levels to meet or exceed higher performance levels. The proposed rules would create so-called waste emissions fees, which would start at $900 per metric ton of waste emissions in 2024, increasing to $1,200 for 2025 and $1,500 for 2026 and beyond.
