Vivek Ramaswamy has made some bold claims about a potential political alliance between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.
He believes there is a plan to narrow the primary to a two-man race between Donald Trump and Nikki Haley, with the ultimate goal of eliminating the former president from the competition.
Ramaswamy expressed his thoughts in a video posted on social media on Wednesday in which he asserted that the plot is to “take down Trump” and for the GOP to “push their puppet into the White House.”
The biotech engineer, who made a surprising impact on the Republican primary race, expects DeSantis to join Haley's ticket as her vice presidential nominee.
“Ron may not know it yet, but he won't have a say in the matter,” Ramaswamy said.

Is Ramaswamy onto something?
Republican presidential candidate Ramaswamy's claim that DeSantis and Haley will join forces to “take down Trump” comes as former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announced he was leaving the race.
Ramaswamy famously urged Christie in a Republican debate in December to “enjoy a nice meal and get out of this race.”
Apparently he complied.
Christie's departure is widely seen as an attempt to unite his voters behind Haley so she can capture a larger share when the New Hampshire primary begins in late January.
According to a CNN poll, Haley reduced Trump's lead in the Granite State to single digits. The prevailing idea in her camp is that a respectable showing in Iowa followed by a shock win in New Hampshire will make it a legitimate two-horse race.

DeSantis said he would not cooperate with Haley
Christie, as evidenced by recent heated comments, does not believe Haley's effort is a legitimate effort to oust Trump.
“It's going to be smoked, you and I both know it,” he was heard predicting. “She's not up to this.”
Christie is also heard saying DeSantis called him before the audio cut out.
The person Christie speaks with also notes that DeSantis “will likely exit after Iowa.”
Would this amount to joining forces with Haley as Ramaswamy claims?
Right now, there is a huge gap in expectations. In an interview with Fox News, DeSantis said he would not accept the vice presidency to Haley “under any circumstances.”
“I would rather spend the last two years as governor, 2025 and 2026, than as vice president,” he said. “I don't think this position offers much, I want to make an impact.”
“I think the near-term game is they're going to try to make this a race between Donald Trump and Nikki Haley,” Ramaswamy told Trump defender Laura Loomer.
“This is what everyone in the establishment supports, including the mainstream media, the Republican establishment, and the donor class, and I'm here to make sure they don't get away with it,” he continued.
