    As Beijing's military aircraft approach at times, Taiwan's ruling party candidate, Lai Ching-te, asserts that democracy itself is on the ballot this weekend. Opposition candidate Ho Yu-ae warns that voters face a choice between war and peace. The new third party candidate, Ko Win Jee, is attracting a younger, anti-establishment base.

    Today, Post Reports speaks with Taipei-based Christian Shepherd about Taiwan's unusual three-party presidential race, and how it could shape regional and international security in the years to come.
