In a recent interview with MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart, former Capitol Police Officer Michael Fanone spoke about his personal experience during the Jan. 6 riot.

Visibly moved by Fanone's story, Capehart pulled out a tissue and began to cry as he recalled the events of that day.

It takes no time at all for Capehart to make a complete mockery of himself, addressing the former officer immediately after the introduction.

“Officer Fanone, I'm going to try to get through this,” the MSNBC anchor said, his voice cracking with emotion. “Thank you for what you did, three years ago today.”

Fanone was visibly uncomfortable with Capehart's behavior as he stared down, looking away, and you could almost see the thought bubble appear above him reading: “Am I looking at this now?”

    Unreal 😂

The incident came as Capehart was promoting the book of former D.C. police officer Michael Fanone.

Jonathan Capehart makes Michael Fanone look tough by comparison

How bad can it be when Michael Fanone thinks you're kind of awkward? The former Capitol Police officer is known for his melodramatic testimony, which even his colleagues have criticized as a manipulation of the national media.

While testifying before the House Armed Forces Committee “investigating” the 2021 riots, Fanone cried and pounded on the table during his testimony, saying, “The indifference shown by my colleagues is disgraceful.”

The emotional performance earned him a gig at CNN.

To be fair, mortal Do You have a personal interest in what happened on January 6th.

He was dragged into a mob and beaten during the chaos at the Capitol. The officer suffered a heart attack during the altercation, then publicly denounced lawmakers and others who downplayed the attack.

The man who dragged him into the crowd was sentenced to 90 months in prison.

Fanone was one of four police officers whose testimony before the House hearing on the Capitol riot also moved former Representative Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) to tears.

    Jonathan Capehart, you're a woman's man.

I would like to applaud them, but the acting is so bad and laughable. The more they push January 6th to be the same bullshit as September 11th the merrier it gets. It is beyond despair. https://t.co/AS6TaLDDY4

Capehart doubles down in stunning and spunky costumes

Fanone later said that watching Donald Trump being impeached made him as happy as the day Osama bin Laden was killed.

“When I first learned of the indictment, I had a long conversation with a friend of mine, Ryan Reilly, and told him how proud I felt to be an American at that moment,” he said. “It's very similar to what I did when I learned that our military had killed Osama bin Laden. I felt incredibly proud.”

Michael Fanone says the indictment against Trump made him feel “the same way I felt when I learned our military killed Osama bin Laden.” Even Laura Coates was brought back. “What I'm saying or what Republican lawmakers are saying is just bullshit to spend time on the news,” he later adds. pic.twitter.com/H4b0Ahbpx3

Which Dude thinks you're soft, Capehart. Control yourself.

For his part, Jonathan wasn't shy about his fake crying (he had a tissue in his suit pocket, but he actually had a separate tissue in his hand).

“And I would do it again!” He bravely declared on the X, adding a raised fist emoji.

Let's hope Fanone and Capehart console each other after the clip and enjoy a nice hot drink together while sharing a good cry in their “hold the line” football pajamas.
