Weary travelers were still trying to get home Wednesday, after severe weather across the country left hundreds of passengers stranded in South Florida.
Only in Dade shared a video overnight of the seemingly endless rebooking line at Miami International Airport.
Meanwhile, NBC6 cameras were snapping photos early Wednesday morning as passengers slept on MIA floors — almost anywhere they could find them.
“It was crazy in here last night, I mean it was bananas,” one traveler told NBC6.
This comes as some travelers have told us they have been delayed, canceled and rerouted.
“I got to the gate, I was late. They told us they didn't have a plane, which was the first time I'd heard that. Then they told us: We have a plane, and the mechanics are there.” “Checking it out to see if it's worth the ride,” passenger Casey Fernandez Irwin explained. “I've never heard of that before. And then, they finally canceled the trip.”
Another passenger told NBC6 he was so desperate to get home, he was considering driving to Tallahassee instead of waiting for a flight.
As of early Wednesday afternoon, there were 148 flight delays and 52 cancellations at Miami International Airport.
Meanwhile, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport saw 114 delays and 22 cancellations.
