Peter Doocy and Karine Jean-Pierre engaged in a lively exchange during a White House press conference following Hunter Biden's surprise appearance on Capitol Hill yesterday.
The president's son stormed into his contempt of court hearing surrounded by members of his legal team before fleeing the proceedings after Congresswoman Nancy Mace suggested he should be arrested immediately.
Ducey began his questioning by asking how big a headache this stunt was causing the White House.
Jean-Pierre responded by reviving the old line that Hunter is just a “private citizen” and that his actions have no impact on the president.
“But the last time he was on the Hill, you said the president was 'certainly aware of what his son was going to say,'” Ducey responded, referring to Hunter's previous stunt where instead of complying with a subpoena from Congress, he made a public statement outside the Capitol.
Without waiting for an answer, Ducey added: “So, is the official line that President Biden is not helping him with his business deals, but helping him avoid subpoenas from Congress?”
“That's not even true,” stammered the clearly agitated press secretary. “That's — that's a jump — and that's incredibly tricky on that question.”
Ducey: “But the last time he was on the hill, I said the president was certainly aware of what his son was going to say.
KJP: “I said that and here – and what -“
Ducey: “So, the official line is–“
KJP: “-I'm saying today-”

Doocy wasn't the only one who upset Jean-Pierre
As for Doocy's original statement about Hunter being a “headache,” Jean-Pierre's denial didn't make it any less relevant at the same press conference.
She's been asked repeatedly about the President's Son ruse, a clear indication that everything Hunter was hoping to accomplish with his appearance is backfiring.
One reporter noted that President Joe Biden has called the Republican impeachment inquiry a ruse, and by his own definition, Hunter's actions amounted to the same thing.
“So, I think if this whole thing is a ruse, how does the White House see that the president's own son is pulling a stunt by showing up at this contempt hearing?” The reporter asked.
Jean-Pierre ignored the majority of questions by once again claiming that Hunter is a “private citizen” and directing their inquiries to his representatives.

Doocy attacks her about illegal immigrants taking over a school in New York
Doocy continued to be a nuisance to Jean-Pierre, confronting her about illegal immigrants who forced children out of class and took over a school in New York.
“An entire high school in New York is in remote classes today because the building was needed to house people who came to this country illegally. So what is the president's priority in this case? Are they immigrants or students? Ducey asked.
This is known as a rhetorical question, but Jean-Pierre answered anyway.

“With regard to immigrants and what is happening at the border, the president has taken this issue very seriously,” she claimed without evidence.
“The system has been broken for decades,” she continued. “And it was the president who took action to deal with this while House Republicans did not.”
In fact, Democrats favor expelling military families Outside hotel rooms And Detaining children from school Instead of securing the border, the current president has overseen the worst invasion of the southern border in this nation's history.
