This week, a video was sold as a meeting between Pentagon and NATO officials, implying that mega-star Taylor Swift should be considered a potential asset on a mission to counter misinformation online. It didn't take long for this video to spark conspiracy theorists with claims that Tay Tay was either knowingly or unwittingly a Pentagon psychological operations agent.
The truth is that the video has nothing to do with the Pentagon, and the left arm of mainstream media was quick to point out the egg falling from the faces of many conservative pundits. Although it should have been fairly obvious to anyone that the video wasn't what it sold, the fact remains… Taylor Swift and everything that comes with it has immense power.
The Swift-verse has its own economic ecosystem, as its tour has revitalized tourism industries in cities across the United States. The question is: Could Taylor Swift be actively used to try to influence the upcoming presidential election?
Get out the vote
This week, Fox News' Jesse Watters used the viral NATO video to run a segment focusing on the possibility of Taylor Swift being used as a Pentagon psychic or White House tool to try to influence the upcoming presidential election. Focusing on a real, real-life event, Mr. Waters touched on Ms. Swift's social media call to action last year.
Last September, Taylor Swift took to her Instagram account and encouraged her fans to register to vote on Vote.org:
“I've been very fortunate to see so many of you at my shows in the US recently. I've heard you raise your voices, and I know how powerful they are. Make sure you're ready to use them in our elections this year!”

An hour after publishing the above, Vote.org recorded over 35,000 new registrations with a 1,226% increase in participation. In response to Jesse Watters' claims, the CEO of Vote.org wrote on X that Taylor Swift is not a psychiatrist but just a celebrity trying to increase youth voter engagement, claiming that Vote.org is:
“It is America's largest nonpartisan platform that helps young people register and cast their ballot.”
But is Vote.org nonpartisan when they hire someone like Taylor Swift as their spokesperson?
Vote!…but only for Democrats
While Taylor Swift's Instagram message lacked any partisan language, it's no secret that the pop star is a Democrat. In 2018, she publicly endorsed two Democrats in her home state of Tennessee.
Two years later, she endorsed Joe Biden for president and said in a magazine interview:
“The change we desperately need is to elect a president who understands that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves recognition and inclusion.”

This would explain recent articles from left-wing media suggesting that Taylor Swift might be the answer to the Biden-Harris team's campaign problems with articles like this one recently published on the MSNBC website titled Taylor Swift could save Joe Biden in 2024. No, seriously. Calling for Taylor Swift to be mobilized to take the vote without naming specific candidates or parties and claiming it's nonpartisan is stupid.
Even the silliest of Swifties know that the singer is a liberal who laments climate change as she travels the world in her private plane and flaunts her Christianity while bemoaning climate change. Roe v. Wade. But to call it psyop is a stretch.
Democrats have relied on celebrities to carry their message for decades because associating a celebrity with a product is just good marketing. To claim that this is not what Vote.org does is to assume that everyone is too stupid to know better.

Taking it global
It's not just the American liberal machine that hopes Taylor Swift can “save” Joe Biden; European liberals are openly pleading with them to do the same in their countries. European Commission Vice President Margaritis Schinas explained:
“No one can mobilize youth better than youth.”
Taylor Swift is touring Europe this year, and the European Commission's vice president hopes T-Swizzle can mobilize the youth vote like the American left hopes she can do here. Mr. Schinas went on to plead:
“I very much hope that a member of her media team will follow this press conference and convey our request to her.”
Don't be fooled; This appeal is not only about ensuring that European Millennials and Gen Zers engage with their government regardless of their political ailments, just as is the case here in the United States. It's a prayer that harnessing Taylor Swift's seismic influence on millennials and Gen Z will mobilize the liberals who enjoy her tunes.
A Reuters article warned:
“This year’s European Parliament elections could see the rise of far-right parties looking to tighten immigration laws and roll back climate policies.”
Who better to confront these policies than Taylor Swift? I think Ms. Swift should stick to what she does best: entertaining the masses — especially since the old white man in the White House confused her with Britney Spears.
Typical old fart of the post-war generation – assuming all white female singers are the same. How insulting!
