Americans who trusted science when Dr. Anthony Fauci told them to stay six feet apart to prevent the spread of the coronavirus learned Wednesday that there is no science behind the edict.

After two days of interviews behind closed doors before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, a press release posted on the House Oversight Committee website revealed that “Fauci claimed that the ‘6 feet’ social distancing recommendation promoted by federal health officials likely… He did not rely on any data. He described the development of the directive by saying “it just kind of came out.”

Republican Rep. Brad Wenstrup of Ohio, the committee's chairman, said Fauci acknowledged to lawmakers that “the policies and mandates he has promoted may unfortunately increase vaccine hesitancy for years to come.”

“He testified that the lab leak hypothesis — which was often suppressed — was not actually a conspiracy theory,” Wenstrup said. The laboratory leak theory claims that the Corona virus originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, and not from natural sources, as Fauci initially claimed.

The statement noted that the admission came “after nearly four years of urging the publication of the infamous 'near origin' paper that attempted to discredit and refute the laboratory leak hypothesis.” The statement also said that Fauci, who denied trying to pressure the CIA about the lab leak theory, “played semantics with the definition of 'lab leak.'

“Dr. Fauci’s written interview exposed systemic failings in our public health system and highlighted serious procedural concerns at our public health agency. It is clear that dissenting views have not been taken into account or have often been completely suppressed,” Wenstrup said. “.

During Fauci's second day of testimony, he said he advised colleges to impose vaccine mandates on students.

A statement summarizing Fauci's first day of testimony quoted Wenstrup as saying that Fauci “signed off all domestic and foreign research grants without reviewing the proposals and admitted that he was not aware of whether NIAID conducted oversight of the laboratories it funded.” Fauci, now retired, was director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

“It is also troubling that facing our nation’s response to the world’s worst public health crisis does not remember basic details about the origins of COVID-19 and pandemic-era policies,” Wenstrup said. The statement said Fauci claimed more than 100 times that he could not remember the events about which he was questioned.

Fauci continued to deny, as he has in the past, that the National Institutes of Health funded “gain-of-function research in Wuhan,” where COVID-19 emerged, the statement said, noting that Fauci “repeatedly manipulated semantics with the definition of the disease.” Gaining the job in an attempt to avoid admitting that the National Institutes of Health has funded potentially dangerous research in China.

Republican Rep. Michael Cloud of Texas, a member of the panel that interviewed Fauci, said the former White House counsel had “an astonishing ability to either forget what happened or then find ways to evade any kind of responsibility for the influence that he had.” “, according to the New York Post.

“They wash their hands of any kind of responsibility, saying, ‘Oh, these decisions were made by school districts.’” “But school districts know that if you don’t follow the guidance issued by the federal government, you open yourself up to lawsuits,” Cloud said.

“He says he remains unconvinced that there is learning loss – and in his view, it is still open to discussion. I suspect [if] If you ask any parent, they will tell you that it was a huge blow to their child's development.

Wenstrup said Fauci “acknowledged that a mandate could increase vaccine hesitancy,” according to the Washington Examiner.

“I can't think what he thought, but I think he felt it was the right thing to do because he thought it would save lives, but he was basically saying lesson learned.” [was it] “It didn’t get into the American psyche,” Wenstrup said.

“We have a problem in our country, and now people don't want to get any vaccines,” Wenstrup said. “The mRNA vaccine is different. The messaging wasn't really good at all, and I don't think Americans ever felt like they were being educated. They were being indoctrinated,” he said.

Transcripts of the interviews will be published in the future, Wenstrup said.
