James Madison High School in Brooklyn, New York City will temporarily go remote due to the need to accommodate illegal immigrant families.
The move comes as a result of concerns at one of the shelters that faced problems due to last month's storm after officials expressed concerns that the huge tent could collapse due to the current heavy rains and strong winds.
So they gave the kids at school the shoes.
The school will be used as a temporary shelter, and to ensure a smooth transition for families, students will attend virtual classes.
JMHS announced the switch to distance learning and said the school would turn into a “temporary overnight respite center” for illegal aliens.
“A group of 2,000 illegal aliens are transported to New York City and will sleep in the school gym,” TikTok's Libs wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Americans are deprived of education to meet the needs of illegal immigrants.”

Parents and teachers are angry that the school is prioritizing illegal immigrants over students
The New York Post conducted extensive interviews with local residents and teachers who expressed anger at students being forced to learn from home while illegal immigrants take over the school.
Even if, as reports indicate, it is only intended to be temporary.
One resident told the newspaper that they believe this is just a test to see if the migrants can be housed in the school for a longer period of time, for example, during the summer.
“This is ridiculous,” the person said. “It's a litmus test. They're using the storm, which is a legitimate situation, testing this out. I guarantee you they'll be here all summer.”
“Why here?” asked gym teacher Robin Levy. “Why don't we send them somewhere where students aren't disrupted, where student learning isn't disrupted?”
City Councilor Inna Vernikov (R) criticized the move for disrupting students' education at JMHS.
“Our public schools are meant to be places of learning and growth for our children, they were never intended to be shelters or emergency housing facilities,” she wrote.

First they will come to schools, then they will come to your homes, X CEO Elon Musk warned.
“This is what happens when you run out of hotel rooms. Soon, the cities will run out of schools to evacuate,” he wrote on the platform. “Then they will come to your homes.”
When TikTok's Libs pointed out that this was happening in Massachusetts, Musk responded: “They ran out of hotel rooms, they're kicking kids out of school for illegal housing, and now they want your homes too.”
One need not focus on Massachusetts. New York City Mayor Eric Adams has already pushed to have residents take illegal immigrants into their own homes.
Mayor Adams said he wants to put undocumented immigrants into special housing by highlighting the fact that there are many people in his city who are in dire economic straits.
“There are residents who are suffering now due to economic challenges,” he said. “They have spare rooms, they have places.”
City officials said the high school will be used to house illegal immigrants “until any weather conditions that may arise stabilize and the facility becomes livable again.”
