“Still Here” features some amazing battle scenes
It's an annual tradition for Riot Games to release a new cinematic for it league of legends. In fact, when Riot gave the Rift a little spin with the 2023 “Brink of Infinity” cinematic, fans erupted on social media. Riot noticed the desire for a major CGI cinematic, and this year, the developer introduced “Still Here.”
“Still Here” is the 2024 movie season, and it features some familiar faces from it league of legendsList of heroes, including Kayle, Morgana, Aatrox, Yasuo, Tryndamere, Kindred, and Ashe. It doesn't seem to provide knowledge in any way. We do not see any characters exchanging dialogue or resolving the plot threads. Instead, we see a montage of battles from Runeterra's history.
The cinematic begins with Kyle and Morgana, twins imbued with divine power from Mount Targon, facing off against the monstrous Aatrox. Based on their matching stylish attire, this may take place during the early days of Demacia's history, when the two heroes protected the fledgling nation from harm.
We also see an elderly ronin protecting innocents in a burning village; The warrior reveals himself to be a much older version of Yasuo. Perhaps this is a future where Yasuo finds peace about his various moral plights, and continues to stand up for the innocents of Ionia.
Finally, the barbarian warrior Tryndamir encounters Kindred, who serves as a metaphysical metaphor for the concept of death in Runeterra. Renowned for his undying nature, Tryndamere fights both the peaceful Lamb and the vengeful Wolf. Before they could claim his life, his wife saved him. Ash eliminates his enemies and the two regroup.
It's great to see cinematic covers of so many different scenarios, including a glimpse into the distant future of one hero's future.
