Jan. 9 (UPI) — The Consumer Electronics Show is where the world's most influential technology innovators and their fans gather in Las Vegas to showcase hot new gadgets amid a host of celebrities and fanfare.
The annual tech industry conference, called CES 2024 and sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association, will be open through Friday after two days of media previews ending Monday and will feature major brands and tech startups that will unveil new and emerging technologies as well as advances in… Different types such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.
Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger will deliver the keynote at 5pm on Tuesday, after revealing in December that he would discuss the critical role of artificial intelligence in the global economy of the future.
“AI is fueling a fundamental transformation, driving the interconnection between technology and humanity,” Gelsinger said.
“At the heart of this transformation is silicon. Whether it's your computer, the checkout at your local retail store or your personal car, semiconductors are essential to sustaining and enabling our modern economies and lifestyles.
“At CES 2024, we will explore how these chips — amplified by innovative, open software — are empowering AI capabilities for consumers and businesses alike, creating a better, more sustainable, and inclusive future for all.”
Other notable names set to attend the mega conference include actor Robert Downey Jr., former basketball star Blake Griffin, investor Mark Cuban, and comedian Howie Mandel, as well as musical artists T-Pain, Ludacris, will.i.am, and Clan. Wu Tang.
“CES has a long history of welcoming celebrities and ambassadors for the world's most famous brands, and this year is no exception,” said Gary Shapiro, President and CEO of CTA.

The conference is expected to highlight developments in key areas such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, transportation and digital health – and showcase how these innovations aim to address some of the world's most pressing challenges.
Attendees can look forward to being immersed in the latest technology offered by major global brands, while gaining insights into future technology from industry thought leaders.
A number of lawmakers and administration officials in Washington also plan to attend.
U.S. Sens. Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., Ben Ray Luján, D-Nev., and Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyoming, will speak at a panel discussion Friday on the state of key legislation affecting technology companies and technology consumers in the United States.
FDA Commissioner Robert Califf, FCC Commissioners Brendan Carr and Ana Gomez, and FTC Commissioner Rebecca Slaughter will participate in a question-and-answer session with the public on Wednesday.
Thursday's panel will include a number of federal officials from various Cabinet departments, including Treasury, Commerce and Homeland Security, who will discuss policy on a range of pressing technology issues, including privacy, health innovation, trade policy, competition, artificial intelligence and self. -Driving vehicles.
International politics was expected to be the main focus of the conference, with more than a third of participants coming from more than 150 countries.
