The company's 10,994-square-foot booth, nearly twice the size of the booth at CES 2023, will be open Jan. 9-12 and is located at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Exhibit 4517 in the West Hall.
HD Hyundai's main theme for this year is “Xite Transformation”, a vision for the site that aims to solve humanity's pressing challenges such as safety and security, supply chain issues, climate change and more. To demonstrate this vision, the company's booth will serve as a living blueprint of what future construction sites will look like, including its autonomous technology.
The pavilion will highlight three main areas: Future Xite, Twin Xite and Zero Xite. An HD Hyundai expert will conduct a remote control demonstration of the wheel loader located in Atlanta – about 2,000 miles from the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition, the pavilion will feature a remote-controlled bulldozer simulator and a twin virtual reality simulator where visitors can experience future construction sites in person.
The 60-foot-high, 15-foot-wide LED display will showcase an autonomous jobsite that creates optimized operations and delivers fleet and safe machine management features using analyzed site information collected through artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning techniques.
A 15-foot unmanned wheeled excavator will greet visitors as they enter the cabin. The excavator features a cable-less design, a radar sensor and an intelligent AAVM (Around View Monitor) camera system that records nearby obstacles and reduces the possibility of accidents while moving autonomously. It is also equipped with four individual wheels that enable the machine to climb steep hills and reduce the need for operators to work in harsh, potentially dangerous locations. These innovative improvements are designed with safety and efficiency in mind, making the excavator a machine of the future.
With the technologies it is showcasing at CES 2024, HD Hyundai is working to lead the construction industry by prioritizing opportunities in future technology areas such as autonomous equipment that are still in the early stages of development.
HD Hyundai is a top global player in advanced technologies and was the first to introduce cross-country 5G remote control for construction equipment in 2018. In 2019, the company successfully demonstrated Concept-X, a comprehensive and automated solution for unmanned construction sites that Supervises all on-site operations from surveying to fleet management.
An HD Hyundai representative said: “Our booth at CES 2024 will allow people to see and experience different smart building solutions for future sites in one place and showcase our expertise in technological innovation to build infrastructure that will shape a more sustainable future for humanity.”
HD Hyundai Vice Chairman and CEO Caison Chung will deliver a keynote speech at CES 2024 on Wednesday, January 10 at 9 a.m. The keynote speech will be delivered at the Venetian Hotel in the Palazzo Ballroom on the fifth floor. HD Hyundai is the only Korean company to speak at this year's key stage.
Appendix: What to expect in the three different regions.
1. The future
Future Xite will provide autonomous solutions that will help solve problems on construction sites, such as shortages of skilled workforce, low productivity and hazardous working environments. A 15-foot cableless excavator and future autonomous construction site features such as drone-based site analysis can also be found here.
2. Twin Exit
Twin Xite will offer future construction solutions that are no longer limited by time and space because they use remote control and site simulation created using digital twin technology. Visitors will be able to experience activities such as Intelligent Site Management, which uses a digital platform for users to discover and solve problems on land and at sea. They will also be able to control equipment remotely using a simulator inside the Twin Xite area along with the VR Twin, which showcases future jobsites envisioned by HD Hyundai.
3. Zero Exit
Zero Xite will represent HD Hyundai's efforts to achieve a zero-carbon era. There will be a large curved screen that will show a green energy value chain focusing on global efforts to reach zero emissions. How HD Hyundai produces, supplies and uses energy can be seen together through the process of producing, charging and using hydrogen and electric power from the ocean to the land.
