US investigators shared footage from inside the cabin of an Alaska Airlines plane that lost a panel mid-flight on Friday.
The Boeing 737 MAX 9 had just taken off from Portland International Airport when one of its door seals broke off, punching a “refrigerator-sized” hole in the fuselage and causing a rapid drop in cabin pressure. The plane was able to make a safe emergency landing and none of the passengers were injured.
During inspections of its fleets of planes, Alaska Airlines found “some loose hardware,” while United Airlines found some bolts that needed “additional tightening.”
