Following warnings of flooding and high winds, most eastern areas can expect milder weather on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service said lake snow will be present downwind of Lakes Erie and Ontario.
A wind warning has been issued for New York's Niagara Frontier region along with a winter storm watch for the Lake Ontario region, where up to seven inches of snow is possible.
Meanwhile, on the West Coast, a freeze warning for rural areas in California's San Joaquin Valley is scheduled to end at 8 a.m. local time. After near-freezing temperatures that dropped to 28 degrees, the weather is expected to warm to near normal temperatures, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Alan Reppert.
“Temperatures will warm up here by midweek and temperatures will return to near historical average,” Reppert told USA TODAY.
