    Why are e-bike manufacturers turning to components manufactured by edge-rolling to solve e-bike design challenges? explains TFC Technical Director Simon Ward.

    According to data from the Cycling Association, 165,000 electric bicycles were purchased in the United Kingdom in 2022, which means that the United Kingdom remains a less mature market than Germany, where two million bicycles are sold annually.

    However, representatives at the 2023 Bike Show in London agreed that the market is gaining momentum after a bumpy few years. The growth of the e-bike market requires manufacturers to effectively design attractive products, manufacture them efficiently, and profitably increase e-bike production.

    Regarding the future of e-bikes in the UK, Steve Garidis, chief executive of the Cycling Federation, said: “It is clear looking at the sales data – especially comparing the UK to European countries such as Germany and France – that we risk being left behind here. However, it is clear that e-bikes Electronic has huge potential, which can be unlocked here in the UK.
