    In anticipation of severe weather conditions, some school districts in the El Paso area have announced a postponement of the start of school for students, teachers and staff on Monday, January 8.

    Fabens Independent School District and El Paso Independent School District have announced a two-hour delayed start for all students, teachers and staff.

    The decision prioritizes safety amid the frigid temperatures and dangerously low winds expected overnight.

    Bassoon residents could wake up to a light coat of white on Monday morning. A winter storm is expected between midnight and 3 or 4 a.m

    Basson residents are advised to take off their jackets in anticipation of a Pacific storm, which will bring cooler weather on Monday and Tuesday.

    Cold weather has reached the border areas.

    Ysleta Independent School District

    The Ysleta Independent School District announced on its website that any update regarding school schedule adjustments due to weather will be announced Monday.
