UC-Berkeley is building a new residence hall and leftists are not happy about it for some reason and have been protesting at the construction site.

In response, the school built a wall at the site to keep protesters out. But how can this be? Democrats and the media have been saying for years that walls are racist and don't work.

It appears that the school police were also involved. Why is Berkeley doing this?

    Fix College reported:

UC Berkeley builds wall, calls cops to stop construction protesters

UC Berkeley officials built a wall using cargo containers and razor wire to keep protesters out of the proposed residence hall.

UC Berkeley has deployed at least 100 police officers to guard People's Park, the proposed site of a new residence hall, according to the student newspaper. The university plans to operate food 24 hours a day to support law enforcement Berkeleyside Also mentioned.

“While the university is unable to begin development of the park pending a decision from the California Supreme Court, the university is permitted to place a fence around the park.” Daily Californian reported on Thursday.

The park has been the site of protests by local students and activists who want to preserve the park for open use. In August 2022, activists mourned the loss of the downed trees with a memorial service on Sunday, as previously reported College repair.

The university previously used the fence in August 2022.

Trees have been removed and cars will be towed to allow the university to build a wall for cargo containers, much like the one built by the state of Arizona along the U.S.-Mexico border.

“At approximately 2:30 a.m., crews began removing trees along the perimeter of the park, as allowed by the city’s public works permit issued Wednesday,” the student newspaper reported. “However, multiple sources report that cars were towed along the streets surrounding the park – Haast Street, Dwight Way, and Bowditch Street.”

Will Democrats condemn Berkeley as a racist for doing this?

Police evicted dozens of activists and homeless campers from People's Park in Berkeley, California, site of counterculture protests in the 1960s, to make way for a wall of shipping containers to block entry to the park. https://t.co/6fTRb7Vjbs
