The weather will remain calm today before the next storm system arrives tomorrow. These storms are likely to be severe, especially after dark.
Today tonight: Today's highs will reach the high 60s. Clouds will remain thin for most of the day, with the only clouds being high. These will begin to increase coverage later today. Tonight, cloud cover will start to increase further. We should basically stay dry all night. Lows will hit in the lower 40s.
the next: The next storm system will arrive on Monday. Rain could start as early as mid-morning. Rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day and into the night. 2-3 inches of rain is possible.
Severe weather will be possible, especially after dark. The highest threats appear to be damaging winds and hail, with tornadoes being a slightly less threatening threat. There is still some uncertainty about the exact magnitude of the severe weather. Regardless, environmental conditions appear favorable for isolated severe thunderstorms.
Another potential danger is strong winds outside thunderstorms. Winds are expected to reach 26-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Make sure to secure any loose external objects.
Some intermittent rain is expected early Tuesday morning, but skies are expected to be clear throughout the rest of the day. Near freezing temperatures will be possible again by Wednesday morning. It looks like the wet pattern won't let up, as rain chances will rise again on Friday.
