Following El Salvador's historic decision in 2021 to declare Bitcoin a legal tender, there is a huge demand for educational resources and training to increase understanding of and build upon how Bitcoin is used in the country. Torogoz Dev's mission is to provide its students with the opportunity to bridge the demand gap for Bitcoin technical knowledge and contribute to the development of Bitcoin and Lightning.

Currently, Torogoz Dev offers an intensive course for students who have completed the previous stages of study which included training in Bitcoin and Lightning programming. This intensive course, called Fellowship, is offered to students selected from previous stages of Torogoz Dev training. It is geared towards ensuring the adoption of Bitcoin in El Salvador by training students to provide solutions that align with their interests and meet local needs. Students will run Bitcoin and Lightning nodes, develop an internal network of nodes, open channels and learn about node and network management.
They will work with Cherito Cafe, a Bitcoin-friendly agro-industrial company in El Salvador, which wants to integrate Bitcoin as a payment solution. Students will begin by defining a business need, creating user stories, a product backlog, grouping stories by epics, defining acceptance criteria and defining dependencies. The project structure and code development will be published on GitHub.
Students will also be taught about managing cloud services, and applying programming logic to make payments through the Lightning Network. They will also learn how to document an API, and learn about security techniques applied to systems related to Lightning, microservices, and APIs. They will also create different plugins to integrate with content management systems like Woocommerce or WordPress.
By sponsoring events like the Bitcoin Adoption Conference and collaborating with leading organizations that have embraced decentralized technologies, Bitfinex aims to accelerate financial and technical literacy and inclusion. Through these educational initiatives, Bitfinex seeks to create a ripple effect of positive change, empowering individuals to understand and benefit from the benefits of Bitcoin and blockchain technology.
For the second year in a row, Bitfinex is the main co-organizer with Galoy for the 2023 Bitcoin Adoption Conference. The event, scheduled for November 7-9, will be held in San Salvador and Bitcoin Beach and will champion Bitcoin, the accelerator network, and financial independence.
