CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A winter storm warning was issued Saturday afternoon through early Monday morning due to heavy snow with accumulations of 5 to 12 inches in parts of Massachusetts.

Track: Live radar of a blizzard heading toward Massachusetts

Temperatures on Saturday at 7 a.m. will be in the teens and low to 20s. If we see any sun on Saturday, it will disappear very quickly! The weather will be cloudy most of the day, with a light breeze from the east. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 30s.

We expect snow to start falling between 5pm and 8pm. The snow will be heaviest from 10pm on Saturday until 3am on Sunday.

Light to moderate snow is expected to fall continuously on Sunday morning. Snowfall will taper off Sunday shortly after noon and end before 7 p.m. Everyone will get a “tillable” backlog. High temperatures on Sunday will be in the lower 30s.

We will update the timing and effects of the snowfall this weekend on 22 News.

Saturday: cloudy. Snow arrives 5-8 p.m
    Heights: 32-36
    Wind: E 5-10 mph

Saturday night: Snow, sometimes heavy, after 10 p.m.
    Lowest levels: 24-30

Sunday: Morning Snow. Light snow/winds in the evening. Snow ends from 4pm to 7pm
    Heights: 30-34

    Monday: sunny

    Elevations: 36-40
