Friday, December 29: Nvidia launches a new version of the RTX 4090 in China
Shares of Nvidia Corp. fell more than 1.0% on Friday after the semiconductor giant released a new, albeit slower, gaming chip designed to meet U.S. export restrictions on China.
The company introduced the GeForce RTX 4090D series graphics processing unit (GPU) on its Chinese website, noting that it features artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled graphics, although it offers performance via a power draw that is 5.9% lower than the version that Nvidia launched in 2019. 2022.

Michael Saylor, co-founder and CEO of MicroStrategy, has begun selling $216 million worth of stock options for the US software company, and plans to sell 5,000 shares per trading day over the next four months, subject to a minimum price condition.
A regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission said Saylor proposed selling 315,000 shares, purchased via stock options in 2014 and set to expire in April, as he aimed to address personal liabilities and acquire additional bitcoin for his own account.
Thursday, January 4: Japan Airlines estimates a loss of $105 million as a result of the collision
Japan Airlines Co. Ltd. expects the collision of its Airbus A350 with a Coast Guard plane at Haneda Airport on Tuesday will result in an operating loss of about 15 billion yen ($104.81 million).
The company said on Thursday that the insurance would cover the loss of the two-year-old aircraft, the first ever loss of an A350 chassis, and that it was examining the impact on its consolidated financial forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2024.
