Green Day have released a new song, “One Eyed Bastard,” which will appear on their upcoming album Rescuers. It follows previous shows “Dilemma”, “The American Dream is Killing Me”, and “Look Mama, Brainless!”. Listen below.
“‘One Eyed Bastard’ started out as just vocals that I had – a shuffle, almost like a Black Sabbath kind of thing,” Billie Joe Armstrong explained in a statement. “Lyrically, I was just thinking about the bad times in life. That's what nostalgia is about, sometimes you think, 'That was a terrible time.'” Everyone has that ugly place in their life where they have to deal with ugly thoughts — it can be That's like revenge or something. Fortunately, I have an outlet in songwriting.
RescuersGreen Day's 14th studio album, will be released on January 19.
