CNN is truly beyond parody. Host Jake Tapper recently claimed that Joe Biden acted on the “conservative side of things” at the border.
Is it conservative to allow 300,000 people to cross the border illegally in one month? Who knows?
After these comments, Jake delivers the conversation to a guest who happens to be a former member of the Biden administration who tries to claim that Republicans are vulnerable on the issue. None of this is based in reality at all.
Newsbusters reports:
On Wednesday's “The Lead,” CNN host Jake Tapper grilled House Speaker Mike Johnson for 11 borderline minutes, constantly pressing him to compromise with Senate Democrats. After that was over, he turned to political analysts: former Bushy Doug Hay and former Biden communications director Kate Bedingfield.
Hay said Biden knows he's in trouble: “They see the same polls that we do, that Biden's numbers at the border are terrible, and that they're really bad with Hispanics as well, which is a key demographic that he needs to handle very well.” “
What Tupper said next, to Bedingfield, was puzzling:
TAPPER: I know the position of the Biden White House, which he was in, is that, boy, they've done more on the conservative side of things than any Democratic president in modern history, maintaining the rules of the coronavirus era. For as long as possible, in their eyes. You know, tightening asylum laws to the point where they're being prosecuted, and that's, you know, with a – with a very important Latin rule.
Here is the video:
In a clip of critics reacting to his interview with House Speaker Mike Johnson, CNN host Jake Tapper repeated a bizarre claim that the Biden team has “done more on the conservative side of… [border] More things than any Democratic president in modern history.” https://t.co/D3QfxaX8tq pic.twitter.com/VTCXD3vXL3

How can Tapper go on air and say things like that with a straight face? How do CNN viewers buy this garbage?
