Precipitation: 1 to 2 inches of rain will fall Monday through Tuesday across most of north and central Alabama. Heavier bands are possible in the southern half of the state, and that could mean up to 4 inches in spots. Wind gusts: Occasional wind gusts unrelated to thunderstorms that may exceed 40 miles per hour. In gusts, it can be higher than 60 mph. Extreme threat? There is a risk of some severe storms south of Interstate 20 mainly late Monday night into Tuesday.
