    Rain is expected in Fontana on Wednesday, Jan. 3, with temperatures dropping into the 50s, according to the National Weather Service.

    Here are the expectations:

    Tuesday, January 2 – Sunny, with a high near 63 degrees. Calm winds becoming southwesterly at about 5 mph in the afternoon.

    Tuesday Night – Rain after 4 a.m. low around 46. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. The probability of rain is 80 percent. The possibility of new rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch.

    Wednesday, January 3 – Rain, especially before 4 p.m., reaching 54 degrees. Light south winds becoming southwesterly at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. The chance of rain is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and a half of an inch are possible.

    Wednesday Night – A chance of rain before 10pm, then a chance of showers after 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. The chance of rain is 50 percent.

    Thursday, January 4 – Mostly sunny, with a high near 57.
