The Viking word we know as “sky” is only three letters long, short for such a vast sky. But perhaps underestimating it is a wise choice when the sky itself is so wonderfully changeable. From cool blues and grays, flecked with white clouds and filtered light, to blazing reds, shades of orange, and daggers of purple and pink, the sky—especially over San Francisco—can be a daily delight. Here is a collection of sky photos I took over the past year from various coastal locations on the west side of San Francisco. Collecting and sharing, I'm reminded that looking up and out is sometimes the best way to stay grounded.
