Tokyo: A plane caught fire on the runway at Haneda Airport in Tokyo on Tuesday when it collided with another plane after landing.
NHK television reported that all passengers on board, believed to be about 400 people, got out safely.
A video clip broadcast on local television showed a large explosion of fire and smoke from the side of the Japan Airlines plane as it was moving on the runway. The area surrounding the pavilion then caught fire.
Japanese Coast Guard spokesman Yoshinori Yanagishima confirmed that the collision occurred between the passenger plane and its flight MA-722, a Bombardier Dash-8.
The Coast Guard said its pilot escaped, but five crew members were missing.

NHK Television said the Airbus A-350 plane took off from Shin Chitose Airport, near the city of Sapporo, to Haneda.
Haneda Airport is one of the busiest airports in Japan, and many people travel during the New Year holiday.
