Surfers from all over the world race to the famous Mavericks Beach in California, to catch huge waves caused by a storm hitting the West Coast of the United States.
Waves up to 70 feet (21 m) high were surfed at the beach, which became a legendary location for surfers.
There was a high surf warning in place, to discourage people from coming to the area, but surfers from all over the world made the trip.
Officials warned onlookers to stay away from the beach after people were injured by huge rogue waves.
The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of “extremely dangerous conditions” and noted that “strong waves and life-threatening rip currents pose an exceptional risk of ocean flooding and damage to coastal structures.”
